Ravenclaw Pride

(Please note that links may contain spoilers if you haven’t read or watched the entire series)

Hi, my name is Alex, and I was actually a Hatstall between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. This makes me the only person of our family to choose their house.

Why do I like Ravenclaw, you may ask? First of all, I’m a total bookworm, and having a built-in library in the common room means that there’s more things to study. Second, I’m actually a little offbeat, which makes Ravenclaw a better fit. No one really judges the quirks of the students in the house, so it’s cool to be in something like that. Third, and most important, it allows me to be in the same house as Luna Lovegood.

nd Garrick Ollivander. Who better than a Ravenclaw to introduce people to their wands?

Also, we don’t need passwords, just a cunning door knocker that asks riddles. Very few outsiders can get in, and it teaches us to use time well.

From Pottermore Wiki:

Ravenclaws possess the traits of cleverness, wisdom, wit and creativity. Many well-known inventors and innovators have come from Ravenclaw. However, Ravenclaws have been accused of undermining each other in order to earn the highest grade.

Students in Ravenclaw can also be quirky and possess unusual intellectual interests. Ravenclaws generally accept and celebrate these eccentrics.

Note: actual house colors are blue and bronze, but I’m cool with silver as well.

That said, there can be some really stupid people in Ravenclaw as well. From the inept Gilderoy Lockheart to the easily manipulated Professor Qurirrell, and even Cho Chang. We’ve had a few issues with the student body, here and there.

We actually don’t mind the Slytherins as much as some people, but only if we know them well. In fact, I even helped my mother come to terms with her sorting. (I still think it was because she picked left over right, IMO)

Actually, of all of the houses, the Gryffindors seem like the real troublemakers. They aren’t as tolerant of our quirks, and some of them just seem like braggarts. My father is a gleaming beacon of hope in this sea of confusion and he represents the best of the Gryffindor traits.

The Hufflepuffs seem like they aren’t as noticable, but I’ve never seen a house more loyal, regardless of who they’re with. My sister is a prime example of what Hufflepuff means to me.
